The Collaborative Model depends on all Collaborating Institutions and Collaborating Scientists being treated consistently and fairly, and by setting expectations as to confidentiality, intellectual property and participation up front. For this reason, it is the Foundation's preference that only Collaborating Scientists attend AMRF Program workshops. From time to time, however, it may be appropriate for an Invited Guest to attend. For example, an Invited Guest may be asked to present the results of her research or discuss a promising scientific approach relevant to the objectives of the AMRF Program. Or, for example, an Invited Guest may be allowed to attend if the Foundation and the Invited Guest's institution were negotiating the Master Collaborative Research Agreement and Discovery Management Agreement but were not able to execute these agreements in time for the individual to become a Collaborating Scientist.
Current Collaborating Scientists are often the best source of these introductions but formal invitations to participate must come from the Foundation. Any individual invited as an Invited Guest will be required to first sign a confidentiality agreement.
